Epstein files to be released after months of delays from Trump officials

Speculation surrounding the affairs of Jeffrey Epstein is expected to reach a defining moment of revelation on Friday with the much-anticipated publication of files relating to the disgraced late financier and sex trafficker.

After months of delay and stalling, the Trump administration is legally obliged to publish a massive archive of documents that could shine fresh light on Epstein’s misdeeds and his connections with key public figures, including Donald Trump himself.

Under the terms of the Epstein Files Transparency Act – passed by Congress in November following months of resistance from the White House – Pam Bondi, the attorney general, must release by midnight on Friday “all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials” linked to Epstein, his jailed associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, and individuals named in connection with his criminal activities.

The files are required to be released in “searchable and downloadable” formats. The publication will come after months of clamoring for the release of the files from Trump’s make America great again (Maga) base, which has shown signs of fracturing over the issue.

I think they have until midnight or something, so if they plan on not actually violating the "law" (in quotes), they could do it at midnight, and let it get lost over the weekend, or wait until late afternoon, etc.

They need to preserve their own "news cycle" in some way, shape, or form - whether they start bombing in Venezuela or do some flurry of "high profile" controversial pardons, or whatever...

Friday night before Christmas is about as dead a news period as they could hope for.

I bet the farm that they will miss the deadline. Likely by providing some bullshit package that isn't the entire thing.

We already know that Bondi is not above holding up empty binders and making bald faced claims about the contents.

if the files are altered will the people who know they were altered step forward and make the claim?

Proving that Bondi and Patel altered the files would be almost as damning as actually releasing them.

All the money stuff aside, IMO Epstein knew he would be murdered. I'll guarantee there is NOT just one set of those documents. There could be several.

there are groups out there that analyze for AI stuff and can quickly spot it - especially when you have a group like 45 might have generating it (since he doesn't pay bills, I expect the "pros" stay FAR away).

Seeng as they must release “all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials” , might they purposefully classify things just to keep them secret?

(I remember one of my coworkers going through the training and became the FOI lead for our office). The various law enforcement government agencies would know what is supposed to be "classified" (and not releasable publicly). How much that process might have been corrupted is probably unknown at this point given how many were fired, resigned, or retired.
