As a CSPAN watcher
and particularly when our cable (Comcast) finally added CSPAN2 (which shows the Senate), there were a number of "old school, southern gentleman" Senators like him and the indefatigable Robert Byrd.
And since you mention a Rockefeller Senator - the other liberal one was Jay Rockefeller in WV, who is sorely missed!
