A 'dumpster fire': Angry voters bash lawmakers over Trump and DOGE

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The questions lobbed at freshman Democratic Rep. Kelly Morrison during a packed down hall Thursday night were meaty. “What is the plan to enforce court rulings against Trump and Musk in the event that they disregard court orders?”

“If Trump ends Social Security, we will be unable to pay our mortgage. We will become homeless at age 70. What can or should we do?” “How will Democrats rehabilitate their standing as the only hope to save the country?” followed by: “Why does Chuck Schumer still have a job?”

Morrison, who represents a liberal-leaning district in the Minneapolis suburbs, echoed back outrage at the administration and sympathy with the queries, which were written on paper and passed to the stage for a moderator to read.

But ultimately, she admitted she has few cards to play in a federal government dominated by Republicans in the House, Senate and White House. “I had big plans that are on hold,” Morrison said.

As a note - 45 was here in Philly last night with Muskrat at a wrestling championship and the local news reported that several hundred protesters were near the Wells Fargo Center to "greet" them.

I think that the only thing that might stop Trump Musk at this point would be an uprising both within and outside of the federal government. An uprising of the American people and those in the federal government that are still loyal to the country and the Constitution and not to Trump. I am not confident that we have the will to do it.

People are still hoping that normal democratic procedures will work. I hope that I am wrong but I am skeptical. I am not confident that we will have fair elections in 2026 much less 2028. I do not believe that we are living in a democracy anymore. Dictators do not willingly give up power. They must be forced to do so. So some form of uprising might be the only solution. Otherwise we must learn to live in an authoritarian state.

6. The Courts Are Still Where We Will Ultimately Bring Reason To Rule

War does not bring reason.

War brings further destruction, in this case beyond a scale humanity may have ever seen.

Our current best options are to mobilize and each work within arms reach of our ass wherever we may go, wherever we may reside.

Take a look over on Blue Sky if you haven't already.
A number of DU members are already there.

If nothing else, it will expand your online community of folks that with whom you'll really relate.

There are a huge number of resources for individuals available on Blue Sky and easy ways to interact in a safe way to organize, mobilize and be a part of the change you desire.

I guarantee that the more you know the more you'll wanna' know, I've never in my life had an easier time assimilating and coalescing relevant sources, methodologies and individuals to mobilize for the change I desire.

Changed my perspective.
Glad it did!

Happy Sunday y'all

3. Chuck Schumer

Chuck Schumer is a perfect example of a politician that does not get it and is still acting as if this is normal politics. He is waiting for Trump's poll numbers to go down. It is nonsense. Trump is an authoritarian and he is establishing a dictatorship. Every day that goes by Trump and his Fascists are tightening their grip. If we get to elections in 2026, I expect them to be canceled or rigged show elections, as per Putin's Russia. We need to take decisive action as soon as possible.

4. The NCAA wrestling card had to be rearranged for that visit

Normally, the order of wrestlers is by weight class, 125, 133, 141, 149, 157, 165, 174, 184, 197, 285. But the 184lb match, the bout everyone wanted to see as PSU's Starocci was going for his 5th straight NCAA tile, was moved to first. I'm sure this was because Trump wasn't going to stay long enough to see the 184lb match when it would have normally occurred.
