Jan. 6 capitol rioter admits to using 'Trump 2020' and Confederate flag pole to assault cops, wrestling barricades away

A 54-year-old Indiana man pleaded guilty Friday for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Troy Allen Koen entered the guilty plea to the charge of assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia said in a press release. He’s scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 26. Prosecutors say Koen was among the group of rioters who pushed their way past Capitol police and into the west side of the building. Koen reportedly “made his way to the front of the line” and started pulling bike racks away from police officers who had erected them as a barricade.
After successfully fighting through the first barrier of defense, Koen yelled and pointed at cops. He then led the group that overpowered police officers holding another barricade, prosecutors said.
“As Koen and the others violently seized the second barricade from the police line and passed it back into the crowd of rioters, a police officer was knocked forward and dragged down onto the ground by a different rioter,” the press release said. “Eventually, the mob successfully overpowered and overran the police line, and the officers quickly retreated to the Lower West Terrace and congregated in the Lower West Terrace Tunnel, the site of some of the most violent attacks against law enforcement that day.”

Thomas may think in regards to violent insurrections as protected free speech.
We have many technological means to pin identification down quite rapidly.
We know this from what we've learned during our wars against Terrorism within our borders for nearly a quarter of a century.
I think that's in part why the frustration level in regards to justice, has simply reached epic levels of outrage and despair.

The AI facial recognition nonsense has been systematically removed from a number of software providers like Microsoft and Meta (for Facebook, etC) and has even banned for misuse).
There have been far too many misidentifications, so it's not really "ready for primetime" except for some limited use as a jumping off point.
The massive number of lawsuits (and settlements) against governmental authorities and corresponding LEO for the identification failures, barely "make the news".
The reality is that aside from their calls for tips on their "Capitol Breach" site, they have been utilizing the ground work of the Sedition Hunters, who are basically a crowd-sourced set of investigators who have amassed probably tens of thousands of pics and hours of videos, and combed through them to attempt to get ids and pass that on to the FBI. I'm sure you have seen them posted about before quite a bit on DU!
There is a whole process where once they id someone and find where they are, they have to contact that locale's U.S. Attorney's office (there are 93 of them), get all the affidavits, warrants, etc., together, then once the person is processed, their case gets transfered to the U.S. Attorney for D.C. who will finish them off.
I wondered whatever became of the Sedition Hunters, and I did follow their investigations posted here for a time. Very impressive work they did, I guess still doing! And I do recall the Feds took their results seriously to the extent of the reported catches they were able to make, which seemed like quite a fair number during that first year. I didn't know about AI being banned from FB or Microsoft.
I know that recently Google would try to lure me into using it on their platform, but I ignored each of those come on's. Haven't seen these lately. thanks for a great summation.
