Israel's military says that, "like every other sovereign country in the world, the State of Israel has the right and the duty to respond", due to "the regime in Iran and its proxies in the region... relentlessly attacking Israel" since 7 October 2023.

"Our defensive and offensive capabilities are fully mobilized," the military says.

"We will do whatever necessary to defend the State of Israel and the people of Israel," it adds.

The aggression as a defensive measure that Israel practises would only stop when every country surrounding Israel admits that Israel is both militarily and morally superior, then give up and surrender.

And that is never going to happen.

Live in peace? Sure, once all sides overcome the trauma, the damage and resentment that has been so dramatically sharpened on all sides over the past year.

That too will never happen.

So my prediction for the future . . . endless war. Peace moments in between, only long enough to rearm and plan further war.
