Trump delivers profanity, below-the-belt digs at Catholic charity banquet
The only person off limits for Trump's roast was himself

NEW YORK -- Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump used his remarks at a Catholic charity banquet here on Thursday to skewer prominent Democrats, often in off-color terms.

He mispronounced Vice President Kamala Harris's name and said she had "no intelligence whatsoever." He made fun of her husband, Doug Emhoff, for an affair he acknowledged during a previous marriage.

He questioned the manhood of Harris's running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, and Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.), at the same time belittling transgender people. He tendentiously emphasized former president Barack Obama's middle name of Hussein, as he often does at his rallies, and used profanity to disparage former New York mayor Bill de Blasio.

The only person off limits for Trump was himself. ... "Tradition holds that I'm supposed to tell a few self-deprecating jokes this evening," he said. "So here it goes. ... Nope. I've got nothing. I've got nothing. There's nothing to say."

In 1996, the Archdiocese of New York decided not to invite then-President Bill Clinton and his Republican challenger, Bob Dole, reportedly because Clinton vetoed a late-term abortion ban.

Fuck these hypocritical assholes.

12. $880 million sex abuse settlement by LA Archdiocese brings total payout amount to $1.5 billion

Also in the news today:

More than $1.5 billion has been paid out by the Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles for sex abuse claims after it recently reached a $880 settlement with victims.

● The Archdiocese of Los Angeles had previously paid $740 million to victims in various settlements, bringing the total payout to over $1.5 billion.

● Archdiocesan officials have said the church has made great strides to prevent abuse.

● More than 300 priests who worked in the archdiocese in Los Angeles have been accused in public records of sexually abusing minors.

In what could be the closing chapter in a landmark legal battle, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles has agreed to pay $880 million to victims of clergy sexual abuse dating back decades in the largest settlement involving the Catholic Church.

Attorneys for 1,353 people who allege that they suffered horrific abuse at the hands of local Catholic priests reached the settlement after months of negotiations with the archdiocese. The agreement caps a quarter-century of litigation against the most populous archdiocese in the United States

There's a lot of much more worthy charities to donate to.

Nothing will change! The racism, fascism, misogyny, hatred and white supremacy...NONE OF IT...will change, unless and until we make racism, fascism, misogyny, hatred and white supremacy UNPROFITABLE to the businesses, corporations and individuals that fund and enable it.

Millions of donations to this "charity" should be cancelled and revoked TODAY!

this is precisely the sort of shit that makes me glad I walked away from the Church when I was a teenager.
I'm also relieved my dearly departed, fiercely Catholic, Irish-American nan is no longer around to witness this garbage. She'd be so ashamed.
