Trump ally Steve Bannon ordered to report to prison July 1 in contempt of Congress case

Washington — Trump ally Steve Bannon was ordered to report to prison July 1, after a federal judge held a hearing on whether to clear the way for him to serve his four-month prison sentence for contempt of Congress.

Judge Carl Nichols ruled from the bench that an appeals court ruling largely resolved outstanding questions of law, but he is giving Bannon's legal team time to appeal.

Prosecutors pushed last month for the former White House chief strategist to be sent to prison after an appeals court denied a request to overturn his criminal conviction. Bannon is fighting the move and argues the judge who oversaw his criminal trial does not yet have the legal authority to impose the sentence as his defense team pursues other avenues for appeal.

A jury found Bannon guilty of two counts of contempt of Congress in 2022 after he refused to comply with a subpoena from the House Select Committee that investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack. The congressional investigators were interested in Bannon's conduct in over a dozen key areas, including his communications with former President Donald Trump as he resisted the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Steve Bannon returns to federal court today in bid to remain out of federal prison during appeal

Washington — Trump ally Steve Bannon is set to appear in a Washington, D.C. federal courtroom on Thursday as a judge weighs whether to clear the way for Bannon to serve out a four-month prison sentence.

At the time, Bannon contended he did not comply because of executive privilege concerns raised by Trump and said that his former attorney had advised him not to respond to the subpoena because of the potential privilege.

He was in handcuffs for all of 30 minutes or so ... allowed out on bail almost immediately.
Got pardoned by Chump later.

But this "We build the wall" fraud is a whole different matter and no more presidential pardons are forthcoming for this convicted felon.

And IF he finally gets his ass thrown in jail for the next 4 months, he should be out just in time for NY state's "We Build the Wall" fraud trial now scheduled for September (with Juan Merchan as the trial judge, where it had originally been scheduled for May 28, but Merchan was sortof busy then).

after he sentenced Bannon back in October 2022, to 4 months, but allowed him to remain free until the appeal was done (unlike what happened with Navarro).

The Appellate court upheld the original conviction last month, so here we are back to where we were almost 2 years ago.

Nichols needs to tell him to report to whatever prison post haste (although I don't know if Bannon intends to go to the SCOTUS or what).

and if he does, they are quickly batted away.

That blow-out of crap that happened yesterday in the news was much of his doing with his verbal vomit and he needs to be silenced.

No War Room BS and threats against journalists and any American who doesn't support Trump.
Sounds like heaven.
