CNN Pro-Donald Trump lawyer Lin Wood is a witness for the state in the Georgia election subversion case, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis revealed Wednesday. The reference to Wood was buried in a new court filing by the DAs office that raised potential conflicts of interest for six defense attorneys because they previously represented witnesses or other defendants in related proceedings.
Wood was previously subpoenaed by prosecutors in the Georgia probe but his status as a witness for the state was not previously known. Lin Wood is a witness for the State in the present case, the court filing says.
As a witness, Wood could be subject to cross-examination by his former attorney and co-counsel who is now representing former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark in the Georgia RICO probe creating a potential conflict of interest.
Wood, a prominent right-wing attorney and election denier, filed a series of meritless lawsuits after then-President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, which were filled with debunked theories about massive voter fraud that went nowhere in the courts.

Was wondering if he would EVER slither into some case because he was out there front and center and I believe he is based out of GA.

But.. but... but....
If he keeps quiet, it's grounds for a mistrial later. The judge has to dq him, just to avoid a future nightmare scenario.
Whut a mess.

(17,802 posts)So tiny's lawyer has a reposnsibility to woods to protect the confidentiality of information woods gave him, and a responsibility to protect tiny. Thats a conflict of interest.
The crime-fraud conflict is more of a prosecutor tool to pierce that confidentiality. If tinys lawyer wnts to claim that woods was engaged in criminal activity with tiny's lawyer, and thus the confidentiality was pierced, well, he is pretty dumb right there.
It would have to be criminal activity between woods and tiny's lawyer. Not between woods and tiny, for that to take effect, no?

(169,789 posts)They have cartoons 24/7 and with streaming like YouTube, at any time they want. We had to either watch them in the early mornings before school or in the afternoons after school (shown by local TV stations that had children's shows with a local host) or on Saturday mornings and that was it! At least not counting some of the animated specials that would air during the holidays.
