Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas temporarily blocks Sen. Graham's subpoena from Georgia grand

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas on Monday temporarily blocked a subpoena issued by a Georgia grand jury seeking testimony from South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham.

The hold on the subpoena came three days after Graham's attorneys asked Thomas to delay the senator's appearance before the grand jury, which is investigating possible criminal interference in Georgia's presidential election in 2020.

On Thursday, a panel of judges on the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals unanimously rejected a request by Graham to temporarily block the subpoena. The appeals panel said Graham had failed to show he was likely to succeed on an appeal challenging the legality of the demand for his testimony.

The grand jury specifically is probing the actions of former President Donald Trump and his allies, including Graham, who contacted state election officials and others on the heels of the election, which was one in that state and nationally by President Joe Biden.

for the white ruling class.

What's next? Re-establishing "Plessy v Ferguson"?

*****

Speaking of rank-hypocrisy, remember back in 2000 when Thomas and the Gang of Four ruled that Florida couldn't recount the votes because there wasn't enough time for "safe harbor" bullshit.

Oddly, Georgia had time to recount its state-wide votes in 2020 THREE TIMES, twice by hand.

Thomas is more like the Samuel L. Jackson character in Django Unchained, and less like Uncle Tom!

Wesley Morris of The Boston Globe compared Samuel L. Jackson's Stephen character to black Republicans like Clarence Thomas or Herman Cain. Jackson said that he believed his character to have "the same moral compass as Clarence Thomas does".

The character of Uncle Tom was seen by many readers as a ground-breaking humanistic portrayal of a slave, one who uses nonresistance and gives his life to protect others who have escaped from slavery.

Here’s the order. Not a whole lot there. Kind of striking this route of emergency relief is most often used for death penalty cases.
