Expect DU downtime 11PM-1AM ET: Our ISP is conducting maintenance to fix Qwest/CenturyLink issues

Our ISP is conducting emergency maintenance tonight during a window which beings at 11PM ET and ends at 1AM ET. During this window, they will "reconfigure BGP routes to avoid latency and dropped packets caused by a saturated link on the Qwest/CenturyLink network."

Between 11PM and 1AM ET, all visitors (not just those on Qwest or CenturyLink) may experience issues connecting to DU.

Our ISP expects the maintenance to take approximately 20 minutes, although they reserve the entire two-hour window for testing and verification.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and thanks for your patience while we work to resolve this issue. We hope this will solve the connection problems that many members have been experiencing since last week.

the sync link you gave us. We get wifi through Time Warner on Kaua'i.. I'm pretty sure that's what the owner of the building uses. I still can't get the Pic of Moment which is wrong.. I have a new laptop and everything else works with high speed.

12. P.S. Updated Correction.. I have Hawaiian Telcom for my ISP if this makes any

difference. Looking for every possible angle of why DU's server is messing with my ability to download Pic of the Moment and to access a link that doesn't have "sync" in it.

That PotM "sync" one Worked though.. first look at a PofM I've had since last Thursday!

You might be able to right-click on the space where the image should appear (if it doesn't load) and copy the image location. Then paste that in the address bar of a new browser tab/window, delete the www and enter in sync (or whatever seems to be working) and hit the enter key. And hopefully the picture will appear.

If we're lucky this will all be moot in an hour or so - but it's a good idea to retain the info should some other connection issues arise in the future.

I can access from home, but not from work. In the same town/locality, no less. I use TWC at home. No idea what's at work but connectivity to DU from work has SUCKED since Monday - not that I spend a lot of time on DU from work - but I do check in a couple times a day to see what's going on. I HATE when I can't get to DU 'cause then I feel like I don't know WTH is going on! News media, as you know, is worthless so DU is a major source of news and current events for me.

Anyway, I hope this resolves it. *sigh* So frustrating! I'm sure it is frustrating for you too, so thanks for keeping on it.

I've been having DU withdrawal symptoms - and it's not pretty. I've actually {GASP} been getting other stuff done.

Right now it seems to be working great.
