Activist Headquarters
Related: About this forumPlease Consider Joining Us
If you are on Facebook, please consider joining our small movement. It's called A Million Snowflakes.
Our concept is dead simple. Every day - or as often as we're able -we will post a suggested one-minute-or-less action that everyone can take, as a way of doing "something". So many people, since the election, have said they don't know what to do, they want to do something but they feel there is nothing they can do to be heard. But if we can get enough people to do one simple thing each day, we can make a big difference. Example: one retweet of an important tweet can easily get lost. But 1000 retweets can start a trend that can't be ignored.
We are also open to suggestions, ideas, and help.
The facebook page is at https://www.facebook.com/A-Million-Snowflakes-1695034210825055/ and the first "action" is already posted. Please visit, like us, help us, spread the word with us.
Thank you.
ps-- Why snowflakes? We wanted to take the word snowflake - which is a beautiful word representing a beautiful thing -- back from the alt-right who are abusing it to bully, belittle and silence those of us who are on the side of tolerance, free speech and inclusiveness.

(60,504 posts)So the Activism area seemed appropriate - and here you are.
I assume you are pondering a big checklist of things to do - contacting the media, local government, tweeting, FBing, petitions, phone calls, which organizations to support....election day seemed to create this huge, monstrous, complex project that needs to succeed....

(6,988 posts)suggestions for the list. At the moment, I'm trying to make it as easy as possible for people to participate - hence the one-minute actions. Eventually I will try to offer 2 or 3 daily tasks: one if you only have a minute, one if you have 15 minutes, and one if you have longer .
Please contact me with any and all suggestions! You can message me here or at the site. Thank you.
