Alabama schools and colleges are preparing for possible impacts if President Trump moves to close the U.S. Department of Education.

Trump is set to sign an executive order as soon as Thursday that would direct his newly confirmed secretary of education, Linda McMahon, to close the department she leads, according to reports. That would shift any federal regulations, programs and funding currently managed by the department to another agency.

Alabama receives a total of about $2.6 billion in revenue from the U.S. Department of Education for K-12 schools and colleges, according to an AL.com analysis of the most recent federal data. … No matter what happens, state leaders are encouraging schools and colleges to brace for changes.

“In the short run, I encourage all those currently supported by the Department of Education’s funding and services to prepare for disruption,” Jim Purcell, of the Alabama Commission on Higher Education, told AL.com Thursday. He said he believes it’s likely that the department will be dissolved.

That funding currently is mandated by Congress. If the Education Department closes, another agency would be in charge of distributing those funds. The Education Department also plays an important regulatory role in services for students, ranging from those with disabilities to low-income and homeless kids.

From now on, you don’t have to fund a women’s and girls’ sports and you can re-segregate racially. Your schools will be shit, but you don’t care about that. Think how much you will own those northern libs

dictators have done, reason why they are all billionaires. They are not billionaires because they were good business men, they are billionaires because they have been scraping the income of the countries they claim to represent, and trump has been trained by the best, so he will pocket a lot of that money, and so will those around him.

What worries me is the silence of the military, the fact that they are following orders to eliminate DEI from their training manuals, the fact that they are following the crook's orders. Part of the method these dictators/crooks follow around the World is to make sure the military is very well compensated, and if there are no real patriots in the military? we can kiss Democracy goodbye..that is what worries me the most, by now the military should have resisted in some way what they know to be treason.

Yes the military silence and capitulation is puzzling and worrisome.

Of course the US military is used to f-wad politicians.

The military usually smiles and goes with the flow on the surface, but stonewall and drag their feet behind the scenes. And wait out the f-wad politicians who come and go.
