Let's drop the political party affiliations, just for giggles, and assess the three horses still in the race for Alabama's U.S. Senate seat.

Why drop parties? Because they mean too much to us now. Way too much. We've started to define each other not based on who we are as individuals, on our morals, our faith, our life experiences, but on which silly political party we claimed when first registered to vote.

Maybe when we were teenagers.

Which is insane.

So, let's put them in the sock drawer (or, preferably, flush them down the toilet) and look at Roy Moore, Luther Strange and Doug Jones, irrespective of their political parties, because one of them will be the next U.S. Senator representing this great state in the nation's capital.
