(15,359 posts)those "other people", will just be getting a handout.
Someone needs to put together one of the Facebook postable pics. Photoshop a check stamped socialism. I will post it on my page.

(56,848 posts)They're the ones that really deserve it - everybody else (especially if they're not white) does not - they're just a bunch of lazy freeloaders.

We knee-grows are taking away what belongs to the white man. So them people on social security, Medicare, receiving Veterans benefits, ACA refund checks...they EARNED that. We didn't.

(44,316 posts)He rants and raves about Social Security and Medicare but ask him if he will take advantage of those programs when the times comes and the answer is that he earned both and will.
Like no one else did?

(18,881 posts)Teabaggers are the sort who would petition to get rid of lifeboats on ships because they don't want their tax dollars going to something they don't see themselves as ever needing - you know, screw other people who might. But as soon as that ship starts sinking, they're pushing everyone out of the way so they can be the first ones to jump on that lifeboat.
But I'm pretty sure it's the owner of the cruise ship that's responsible for the lifeboats, not the "guvment."
And when was the last time you were on a sinking ship?

(9,103 posts)the number of lifeboats, and life preservers and other safety features, required on cruise ships registered under their flag. It's probably one of those horrible socialist initiatives that came out of the Titanic sinking.
And I think the poster was drawing an analogy (and a pretty good one at that), not speaking from personal experience.

(911 posts)Mandating the number of lifeboats is not the same as buying them.
I also recognize the analogy but it is a flawed one. A better one would probably be the EPA as in, "those t-baggers all want clean water but they don't want their money guaranteeing anyone else has clean water."
This is just pointless snarking. Anyone deserving of this level of derision can certainly be criticized for what they do and say. Don't criticize them for made-up shit they haven't done or said. It only weakens your position among objective observers. Pointing and jeering at your ideological counterpart may bring some sort of misbegotten emotional satisfaction but it's ultimately unproductive.

(3,575 posts)That's as dumb as saying "tell all liberals to return their ACA checks to HMO's with "Help Others" written on it.

(3,575 posts)In order to believe that silliness, one would also have to believe the same is true of liberals and I will not accept that premise.
Fact is, people expect a return on their investment. Expecting them to give up that return is naive.
Take kansas and her petition below: she asked people to give up what they have already paid for and had a "fun day" because people expect a return on their investment? That's beyond silly.

(96,793 posts)It said they agreed to give up their SS and Medicare. I got one signature. Probably asked over 100 to sign it. I was cussed at, told to go home, called a moonbat and a stupid liberal.
All in all, a fun day. LOL
