We cut absolutely every connection in a six-pack ring before throwing it out. HopeHoops Jul 2012 #1
A serious look at packaging overall, I'd say. MichaelMcGuire Jul 2012 #2
Yeah. It's sad. I even pull bikes and scrap metal out of other people's trash. HopeHoops Jul 2012 #3

It isn't just the can rings. All those little openings trap things too. Cut through all of them.

Its hard when you come across an animal half staved and needing to be put to sleep. A change in attitude towards recycling, making safe items by (crushing tins, cutting rings etc) and a move away from a disposable culture. Would go some way....

This video shows perfectly the attitude many have.

I think we must be an minority in giving a damn.

We've got a scrap metal center not far from us so I score a little pocket change by running things over there rather than sending them to the dump or incinerator. Our weekly pickup will take an unlimited amount of recyclable materials including all types of paper including window envelopes. We work very hard to recycle everything possible. I keep the aluminum and steel cans out of the pickup because I can just run them over when I go to the scrap metal center.
