Well, GOP, in view of the disaster the Trump presidency has already proven to be, its pretty much a given that there will be a Democrat in the White House after the 2020 election.
That said, I figured this was an opportune time to agree on the rules well all be following in future, based on the precedents you and your pResident have now established.
So if the next (D) president lies constantly, youll dismiss it by saying a president shouldnt be taken literally, or even seriously am I right?
If the next (D) president spends every weekend playing golf at a cost of over $3,000,000 a pop, youre good with that.
If the next (D) presidents spouse decides not to live in the White House, costing the taxpayers upwards of $300,000 per day in additional security costs, thats okay with you.
If the next (D) president refuses to produce their tax returns, or divest themselves of their business holdings, you wont say a word about it.
If the next (D) president publicly insults our allies, youre down with that.
If the next (D) president nominates inexperienced, incompetent people to Cabinet posts, youll vote to confirm them without question or hesitation.
If the next (D) president has a history of cheating people out of money for services rendered or by way of a fake university, youll never say a word about it.
If the next (D) president brags about grabbing people by their genitals and/or mocks the disabled, your Christian leaders will praise him/her as being chosen by God to lead the nation.
If the next (D) president tries to institute a travel ban on people based on religion or country of origin like, for example, white Christians youll wholeheartedly support it.
If the next (D) president repeatedly tweets incoherent nonsense, and goes berserk if someone questions their obvious lies or impersonates them on a TV show, you wont even so much as raise the topic of their mental competence.
If the next (D) president along with his advisors, family members, et al have inextricable ties to a foreign power known to have tampered with our election process, youll dismiss it as a meaningless coincidence.
If the next (D) president and his cohorts wind up being investigated for possible collusion with a foreign power in order to undermine our election process and our entire democracy, youll support their efforts to tamper with and/or shut-down that investigation.
And above all, if the next (D) president accuses his/her predecessor of illegally spying on them without a scintilla of evidence you will sit quietly by, with smiles on your faces, lookin like butter wouldnt melt in your mouth.
Have I got that straight? I just want to make sure were all on the same page here. Im assuming that all of the things you dont find objectionable about the current (R) pResident would be equally unobjectionable in a (D) president.
So if the next (D) president does things like take a vacation once in a while, boosts funding for social safety nets, education, or the arts, treats our allies with respect, acts responsibly and intelligently, et cetera, we wont be hearing a peep out of you about how he/she is the worst president ever ya know, the way we had to hear that said about Obama for eight years.
Whole new world, folks whole new ballgame. Given what you have turned a blind eye to where Trump is concerned, you have forever lost your credibility when it comes to complaining about anything where the next (D) president is concerned. You are forever precluded from feigning concern for your countrys well-being, and claiming to be moral, upstanding patriots.
Trump is your pResident - you supported him, you elected him - and you are now bound by the "rules" you have adopted in order to cover for him.
Good luck with adhering to those "new rules" when the next (D) president is sworn-in.

Just last week, Spicy said Trump's golfing was different from Obama's. Because, that's why!
Will the media call them on their hypocrisy?

(25,250 posts)I, for one, am sick and tired of this blatant double standard. I'm fed up with right-wing privilege and I won't take any more of their shit.
