Sanders: Trump is 'a pathological liar'

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Thursday called President-elect Donald Trump a "pathological liar" who "changes his mind every single day."

"What do you do when you have a president-elect, soon to be president, who — and I say this not happily but I think most people who observe him would agree — is a pathological liar, who changes his mind every single day," the former presidential candidate said in an interview with MSNBC.

The lawmaker then said that he hopes to see a new political movement of millions of Americans who "actually are following reality."

"I am working very hard on this, and we need the help of the American people obviously ... to build a movement of millions of people who actually are following reality. And that's the challenge. Real change in this country, I am more and more convinced of it, is not going to come from Capitol Hill, its got to come from grassroots America," he said.

I think he is absolutely right. With the president, Congress and the Courts all lined up the way they are the only real answer is a true grass roots movement.

I'm in.

These same people will not believe any of the calamity about to happen will be his fault.

To a person they will blame Obama and liberals. They will continue to vote for Trump and the like.

The 65 million who voted for Clinton.

They voted for Clinton, in part, because they understood the political reality. The alternative was Trump. Always was.

The movement doesn't need to be new. It needs to be larger - target the people who usually vote D but stayed home this time. That's more efficient (and, frankly, realistic) than trying to build something from scratch. This is an answer to a question that doesn't even need to be asked.

I do agree with Sanders, though - Trump is a pathological liar. Everyone knew that early in the campaign, and some have known it for a couple of decades.

Creating something new, or "rebranded" if that makes it more palatable to you, that pinpoints common goals targeting "the people who usually vote D but stayed home this time" is exactly what we need.

all very well and good to say "it needs to be larger" but without any new plan to achieve this except more of the same, will not work. Populists like Warren and Sanders who, for whatever reason, are able to communicate a simpler message into a populist movement from the left is where things must go. For too long Democrats were too smart for their own good. They assume that "folks" will eventually realize that they are right and the GOP is wrong, and they don't have to do anything but govern well. Obama doubles the employment rate, and doubles the DOW index, and for what? A populist leader comes along and simply tells his audience that Obama has been a 'disaster' and half of America believes him.

It doesn't matter how much good you do if you can't get the message out.

But, in light of Mango Musselini's kibosh on the women's march on inauguration day. We'll be lucky if free speech of any kind will be tolerated, let alone peaceful demonstration and protest. The Turd-Elect has the power of congress behind him and soon, the supreme court.

Without starting a debate .........

We need bottom up...... not trickle down ......

Sanders has strong voice in Senate and can speak without confines of President or even VP

Work towards goals to work for all

edit to add and call trump pathological liar and be able to continue without worrying about office he may or may not hold
