I wish Obama and Loretta Lynch had been in charge for Waco and Ruby Ridge.

The slow, deliberate, intelligent approach has been vindicated with only one dead bad guy and zero good guys killed. Ignoring the calls to storm in with guns blazing was obviously less satisfactory to those (not referring to DUers) who want these things to resemble a 90-minute Hollywood action movie, but was obviously the right thing to do.

As I have said many times these past 7 years or so, it's good to have the grownups running things.

2. I'm not sure if Obama and Lynch would have reacted differently to Waco and Ruby Ridge

Not over yet but imagine Trump or Cruz in charge and these were protesters for a progressive cause?

the inevitable retaliation, ala Oklahoma City. Federal employees will have to be on their guard for the foreseeable future. I hope this ends soon, and the people of Burns County can get back to their lives.

This was handled masterfully. Some people can't seem to get over that. Odd.

...I think the Federal government learned a lot. There were significant difference in all those events, but over time some agencies learned that doing it the smart way was better than the hard way.

Seems the two county sheriffs, working with the FBI, lured the so-called leaders away from the compound onto the open road so no bystanders would be in danger.

I read earlier that the sheriff in the adjacent county had made statements that were "favorable" to the seditionists and thus made them susceptible to attending the set-up meeting. They were not the sharpest knives in the drawer.

9. I would not call a protestor a "dead bad guy". He was a protestor, not a hardened criminal.

Just because I don't agree with a cause does not mean I think someone is in the wrong for having different views.

I remember idiots saying the dead kids at Kent State were the "bad guys" and wouldn't have been killed if they had just kept quiet.

it's not over yet, the remaining militants are at the Wildlife Sanctuary digging ditches with a tractor and are threatening an armed fight. They already shot down a drone.
