This line from Shakespeare's comedy Love's Labour's Lost suddenly reminded me why the media gives people like Trump a free pass: "A giving hand, though foul, shall have fair praise." (LLL.IV.i.23) For ratings and entertainment value, I guess Trump is just the gift that keeps on giving, as fascistic and racist as his horrible words are.

at a given time. She may not be main stream media, but he surely generates revenue.
