I don't think asking for proof is too much to ask. Almost immediately after the measles outbreak happened, the right wing promptly declared that it was caused by illegal aliens and they said it was Obama's fault because he had not sealed the southern border.
What proof has the right wing offered in order to back up their assertions?
It all seems pretty xenophobic to me and the right wing in America has been doing this for a long time.
Italian, German and Irish immigrants were all accused to bringing diseases to America.
This is really nothing new.
The party of hatred, racism and xenophobia simply cannot contain themselves. They always use their bigotry to attack immigrants and minorities.
Measles Outbreak 2015: Illegal Immigrants Not Linked To Outbreak
No, the 2015 measles outbreak in the U.S. wasnt caused by illegal immigrants. But that didnt stop a Republican congressman in Alabama from suggesting illegal aliens who are not properly health care screened may have been responsible for the surge of cases of the highly contagious and deadly disease.
<...>
Theres no connection between illegal immigration and the measles outbreak. In fact, Mexico and Central America, where the majority of illegal immigrant children come from, have high immunization rates -- 99 percent in Mexico and 93 percent in Central America, Vox reported. Both are higher than the 92 percent immunization rate in the U.S.

(32,265 posts)1. I've seen that claim made on a couple of other message boards. I've asked for evidence, but nobody
seems to have any. When I do a search, I come up with articles like the one you posted showing higher immunization rates in the countries the immigrants come from than we are able to achieve here in the states.
