Marijuana legalization and racism

I'm in favor of legalization, but this is a very good point. There's this huge injustice at play. People's lives have been being destroyed for 40 years - and people of color more than white people because there's a huge disparity in levels of arrest, and likelihood of conviction, and severity of sentencing based on race, and of course whether you got shot during an encounter with police - every step of the criminal justice system is heavily biased. Do we just pretend this never happened and move on without any acknowledgment of the past?

have an easier time getting a job than black men with no criminal record. You can google it. There's disparity in hiring too.
