Attack on pro-Morsi rally 'kills 16' (Egypt)
A group of unidentified men has killed 16 people and wounded around 200 others in an attack on a rally in Cairo supporting Egypt President Mohamed Morsi, health ministry officials say.
The attack early on Wednesday came as the embattled Islamist leader vowed he would not bow to mass protests calling on him to step down.
"Sixteen people have been killed and 200 wounded in an attack on a demonstration supporting President Morsi next to Cairo University," state television reported, citing the ministry.
"The aggressors attacked us with firearms," one Morsi supporter, Mostafa Abdelnasser, told AFP by telephone, adding that he carried away a man who had been shot in the head.
