Taliban says fighting will end after US withdrawal

Afghanistan's Taliban has urged the US to pull out all its troops from the country to bring an end to the 11-year-old war.

Leaders of the Taliban issued a statement on Friday welcoming the news that a White House official said that a complete US military withdrawal from Afghanistan after 2014 might be an option.

US President Barack Obama and Afghan President Hamid Karzai are now meeting at the White House.
