The Contrarian
Jul 11, 2026
In this segment of The Tea with April, April Ryan sits down with Texas Congressman Al Green for an urgent exposure of extreme law enforcement overreach following the tragic, fatal shooting of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo by ICE agents. Araujo, a devoted father, was shot while on his way to work while actively awaiting his work permit. Fiercely condemning ICE as an out-of-control "paramilitary force with a license to kill," Rep. Green is taking direct action by demanding local investigations and introducing articles of impeachment against the president.
Beyond the ICE crisis, Green breaks down the shocking arrest and forced base confinement of Major Jason Watson, a uniformed military officer detained for protesting on the Capitol steps and previews his upcoming legislative push to expose the administration's multi-billion dollar crypto portfolio as a predatory Ponzi scheme.

(2,124 posts)He wasn't arrested for protesting. He was arrested for protesting while in uniform. Had I done the same thing when I was in the Army during the Carter Administration, I would have been arrested, too. It is something every service member knows -or should know. You don't do public politics in uniform.
Further, the fact that he is under base confinement isn't shocking, either. Service members don't retain all the same Rights as civilians. There are many, many good reasons for that.

(2,124 posts)I don't generally watch the videos. I'll read the synopsis, as in this case.
I just thought it was an important point for me to make for others that just read the synopsis.
