Proof that the anti-Woke agenda isn't marketable.

West Virginia spent $3M on an ‘anti-woke’ college program. One student is enrolled

Just one student is reportedly enrolled at a new West Virginia University center designed to push back on “woke” ideology ahead of its opening this fall.

“I’m not happy about it,” Democratic state lawmaker John Williams told West Virginia Watch. “Now we’re in a position where we’ve allocated so much money towards this program, and only one person is taking advantage of it.”

The Independent has contacted the university for comment.

In 2025, Republican lawmakers mandated the creation of the hub, the Washington Center for Civics, Culture and Statesmanship, allocating $3 million in support.

At the time, Gov. Patrick Morrisey said the center would focus on classics and American civics “to push back on the woke ideology that has infected our schools and help return higher education to its true purpose.”

Making the anti-Woke course an elective won't fill up the class, they'll have to make it a requirement. sop 9 hrs ago #1

All the Classic education I had growing up was basically Enlightenment and post-enlightenment, and some somewhat smeary white-washed history that danced around a few subjects when it tried to "Great Man" it, and then have to explain why the Great Man or Saviour Nation had some flaws as we got into High School and realized "Hey, most of the Founding Fathers owned Slaves, and the Constitution of the Confederacy at the time talked a whole lot about Slavery and how White Men need to be in charge - and pretty much little else in the way of a grievance" and "Wow, those Native Tribes really did not like being sent to a reservation, and I don't think I would, either..."

Except for the couple of snot-nosed country club prigs and bullies, of course who had the need to look down on everyone else, of course.
