(23,257 posts)Glad to see VAR make the support the on-field call, there was not enough to say Kane was fouled

(23,257 posts)The ball struck the camera cable and should have been declared dead, disallowing the goal.

(26,203 posts)because one of England's players is a trumper? Is that right? He's actually pretty knowledgeable about soccer but not as knowledgeable as he is about other sports like baseball or football or especially hockey. I'm clueless, but we watched the national anthems together on Telemundo.

(23,257 posts)except for England's first goal.
They can tell when the ball brushed a Croatia's players hair but can tell when it hits a wire

(4,741 posts)The replays I saw were from the camera behind the Norway goal. Id need to see it from several angles. But, also, in any open air stadium, the prevailing breeze can absolutely modify the trajectory of a high kicked ball. I suspect the wonky roof in Miami exacerbated it.

(23,257 posts)the blurry zoom is worthless. I saw a sideline view where it appears the ball takes a nosedive, but the wires are lost in the background
I did not hear about wind conditions. That could be an explanation; I have seen wind to very strange things to a ball in flight.

(11,367 posts)It's a normal trajectory and doesn't hit anything. The camera angle people saw with the ball moving away from the lens just made for a weird perspective.

(23,257 posts)Can't see the wires but the ball is clear. It looks like an uninterrupted parabola so credit to the VAR crew, they were right.
