and when she starts being concerned about something i tend to take notice b/c between the two of us she seems to be the more logical, practical, rational one.

so i've been looking at a tomato and nectarine on my counter today and wondering if i should just throw them out.

7. It's not nothing.

It can cause severe diarrhea and dehydration, which can be life threatening. Unlike typical GI illnesses, this one can last for weeks.

I'm allergic to the sulfa drug used to treat it, so I'm keeping an eye on this outbreak.

I am going to be cautious about eating raw vegetables like salads in restaurants and I'll rinse raw fruits and veggies I eat at home.

It's never a good idea to swim in freshwater during the summer. Stay away from small lakes and warm rivers. That's where all kinds of bugs like to grow.

The numbers are likely higher than reported, but we don't know since RFK, Jr. gutted the CDC.

It's not nothing, but certainly not worth getting worried and upset about. Just use some caution.

I'm off produce until it resolves. My wife just had made surgery related to her digestive system this year so needless to say we cannot risk getting anything like this. They said on the news it can be two weeks before symptoms present themselves though so I'm left feeling whatever "bad" food got out into the system has probably already been consumed and is out of the system, but I guess we'll have to see.

there is also little doubt that the gutting of CDC personnel who's job it was to stay on top of things like this is hampering the response. Shame on the media for not pointing this out.
