Are Republicans "anti-American"?

If we look at their words and actions, we can only come to one conclusion.

They will do whatever Trump wants them to do. No matter how insane or damaging to our country.

They have permitted him to destroy our many-decades alliances with our friends around the world. They have said nothing as he bombed people in the waters off Venezuela. They said nothing when he sent the military into Venezuela to capture their leader. They did nothing when he went to war in Iran all by himself.

They did nothing when he sent his armed goons into Minnesota to murder American citizens. They said nothing as he cozied up to Putin and the authoritarians around the world. There was only a slight murmur, maybe a chuckle, when he threatened to sue our own government for $10 billion dollars.

They did nothing as he weaponized our own Justice Department against his political enemies. As he destroyed our economy with his insane ideas about tariffs and his manipulation of the stock market and the runaway inflation.

They have done everything to hurt our country. Then they wave the flag on the Fourth of July. They are all unpatriotic hypocrites.

A person or group is certainly anti-American if assisting a foreign entity that intends or has done harm to our country or its people.

But if "American" is defined by its people and history, today's Republican Party is merely the latest in a long record that falls far short of the highest ideals to which good people aspire.

We are, collectively, what we do, and it ain't pretty.

The administration has been lawless and created chaos by treating the federal budget as Trump's piggybank. A lot of that is down to the acquiescence of Republicans in the House and Senate.
