He’s not 80 and he’s not a walking bag of controversy. Anyone should be able to take out Collins in this climate.

Understands DC as he worked for Katie Porter and has progressive values including Medicare for all. Collins is still weak up here and a good candidate could still take her down. As Platner showed, Maine is ready for change.

And I think it's probably safe to assume that he has NEVER accused Black people of being "cheap" (poor tippers). I'd be SHOCKED if there were any allegations that the had described rural White Americans as "stupid racists"... or using the R-word to dismiss his critics.

If he's never targeted police leadership with the phrase "thin blue line trash"... or referring to law enforcement officers as "opportunistic cowards" ... then it's also unlikely that he wrote ACAB (all cops are bastards)... and that would be relief and an improvement over the current situation.

But most of all, I think it's very safe to assume that Jordan Wood has never been one to blame victims for sexual assault. I cannot imagine that he would write that sexual assault victims should "take responsibility for themselves" or "act like an adult" by "not getting so intoxicated that they end up in a compromising situation".

Now if the state party organization can facilitate him becoming the nominee in a way that doesn’t do any more damage to the chances of beating Collins…

If it’s legal (I think it is), Platner should transfer his massive (at least it was last I heard) campaign war chest to Wood, or whoever becomes the new nominee.
