I have never supported Platner, but he deserves the same consideration that Al Franken never got. If he sees a reckoning for something he really did, then he has to confront it head on or quit. The one thing he has to do is be honest with happened. Are the allegations true? Then bow out. If not, then he should have nothing to lose by fighting them. I have to add that hearing that he is already setting “conditions” for his departure does not enhance the argument that there is nothing at all to the accusation. I think the voters of Maine deserve a simple yes or no, instead of an “it’s complicated.” It shouldn’t be.

He doesn't belong anywhere near the Senate.

I never agreed with what happened to Franken. Platners history with women is beyond the pale. He said women should not drink or they will be responsible for being raped. He said they should man up and take responsibility for what happens to them. Silly women it is ALL THEIR FAULT!

IMHO the voters of Maine deserve a better choice than Platner.

I am supporting the process, not the man, so we really don’t disagree that much. I have known Janet Mills for years. She is smart, very aware (even if she has taken some action that some disagree with), and has a wicked sense of humor, which I value very highly. I never liked or trusted Platner, but as the winner of the primary, i was/am, however reluctantly, ready to bow to the wishes of the voters that put him there. The fact that I personally disagreed with the outcome of that vote is of no matter to them, nor should it be. No Maine voter came up to me and trashed me for my choice in the Texas primariy, either.

That should mean a lot for her supporters! She and Sanders were endorsers early on.

I'll say this again: the evidence must be overwhelmingly credible for Dems like Ro Kanna and now Sen Warren to withdraw their support.

And for Planter to lay out his conditions for withdrawal. He must know how incredibly damning the evidence is documented,
Instead of the usual denials and apologies.

Mahalo, she. As has been noted, "it's not over until its Over." Hopefully, Maine Dems will get a great candidate to run in his place if he does withdraw.

The woman did Dems a favor by coming out now with the full story instead of waiting for the Collins fascists to do it.
