Jen Psaki makes the case that Donald Trump's failed "state fair" and his other calamitous projects at the seat of American government is an encapsulation of his entire presidency, from overblown vanity projects to sketchy budgets to utter incompetence to weaponizing his Justice Department to help feed his cover story.

1. Fill up their pockets as much obscenely as possible with other people's money (actually, from the national credit card it will not be them to pay back plus interests, but the nation's grand kids and their grand kids).

2. Manage by all means necessary, including violence (as we've seen), to remain in power illegally.

Gas-lighting, coercing, blackmailing, fear-mongering propaganda is their tools to achieve those two.
