Iran's 10-point plan for ending war calls for 'acceptance' of uranium enrichment, removing all US sanctions

Irans 10 pt plan tonight. Or, whatever taco touches dies.

Tehran says its 10-point plan for securing an end to the war with the United States would require Washington to accept its uranium enrichment program and the lifting of all sanctions.

Claiming victory, the Islamic Republic says in a statement released alongside a list of the 10 points published by state media, that the plan would require “continued Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz, acceptance of enrichment, lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions.”

Other key demands in the blueprint, offered through mediators in Pakistan, include US military withdrawal from the Middle East, an end to attacks on Iran and its allies, the release of frozen Iranian assets and a UN Security Council resolution making any deal binding. -snip-

After being attacked?

Once Trump tore up the treaty back in his first term, there was no return, and frankly I can’t blame them.

I still haven’t seen one shred of evidence they’ve been building anything. If someone has a link to actual enrichment levels, it might be a bit more convincing. It was still not a good reason for this war. This was always Bibi’s war. He’s been itching for this for decades. He found a useful idiot in Trump to follow along.

I guess I’m an idiot for taking the bait even replying here.

Until TSF decided with Bibi that they could do better than the Obama negotiators by bombing their way into the hearts and minds of the Iranians to make their point.

And countering it, North Korea. Kim Il-Sung may have led a cult of personality and was a terrible dictator, but in hindsight his pursuit of a nuclear weapon was brilliant strategically, in terms of political survival.
Sure it led to thousands starving but it did keep the regime in place. Dictators (and wannabe dictators like Trump) typically don’t care about that anyways.

"OK, we'll just stop now" isn't nearly enough to make them whole. They've offered a settlement they would accept. It certainly should be seriously considered. Karma sucks.

what one would call unprovoking. Trump is right about that at least - Iran (or any other non-nuclear weapons country) must never be allowed to have them.

...that they were observing, by all indications. We tore it up. They have no further obligation to not pursue nuclear weapons, if that's indeed what they're doing. They've denied it. Trump says they're lying. Somebody is, for sure.

and Trump stupidly reneged on it.

Iran then proceeded to further enrich uranium (to about 60% IIRC) and in large quantities which could have no other purpose than to develop nuclear weapons (even though they claimed it was for "research" purposes which made little sense).

So, in a limited sense, Iran brought this upon themselves - they could have stuck to the terms of the treaty and devoided Trump and Israel of a reason to attack. An f'ing mess no matter how you look at it....

He has wanted this war for decades and he found a willing and useful idiot in Trump.

And this notion that only 8 countries or whatever number it is are allowed to have nuclear weapons is ridiculous too. Countries will and should do what their national security dictate.

It’s not the “white mans burden” to keep nuclear weapons away from the browns and blacks.unless you’re claiming that all countries should give up their nuclear weapons? And we all know that won’t happen either.

Wed Apr 8, 2026, 01:20 AM

on the matter happens to be correct no matter what his beliefs and motivations.

No-one should be "allowed" to have nuclear weapons but the fact is some do and it is a pipe dream to think the major powers especially will give all of them up simply because it would be impossible to be certain each had actually done so. That Gennie is out of the bottle and will never be put back in any realistic scenario.

And no, it is not a matter of whites, browns and blacks - race is immaterial as it should be. Several "white" countries BTW have renounced possession of nuclear weapons (Canada among them) for the very reasons No other country should have them.

that is the reality of the situation. It ideally should be zero but that's not how it turned out. Adding to it has no justification at all, it only makes the situation exponentially worse.

I thought when I heard there was a ceasefire and a 10 point plan for peace from Iran that there was a serious plan submitted by them. This just proves Trump totally TACO’d cause there isn’t a chance anyone in America took this seriously.
