Pakistanâs Prime Minister is asking President Trump to extend his deadline by two weeks and is urging the Islamic Republic of Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for a corresponding two-week period in exchange.
The Islamic Republic of Iran says it is âpositively reviewingâ Pakistanâs proposal and the White House says it is reviewing the proposal as well.

(8,229 posts)The only question is what Iran will get out of all this.
Israel gets Lebanon up to the Litani River, which we'll soon learn was always the territory of historical Israel, etc., more nonsense. Trump will get his chest-thumping jingoism.
What will the Revolutionary Guard get?

Whats to negotiate after you hand in your hammer? I would be surprised if they took this deal.

(41,136 posts)Gas prices in the US are where they are because of the Strait. Does this really need to be said?

(1,770 posts)How fucking stupid was this administration to think Iran wouldnt use the straits as leverage after they were attacked?
Holy shit.
The administration is responsible for everything that has happened with regards to rising gas prices. You can complain all you want about Iran. Everything was so predictable and its all on Trump.
Your war gaming abilities are not impressive.

(41,136 posts)If they have a fee structure as a part of this deal then it makes sense. Theyre probably also going to want to discriminate (ie ban or impose higher fees), against any shipments going to the US or Israel as part of any agreement. I just dont see a clean opening of Hormuz happening.
