Illinois is a safe blue state- but Stratton wasnt expected to win the primary.

She carried Cook county, where Chicago is and the area around Springfield. Krisnamoorthi was hurt by accusations that over $90,000 of contributions were from MAGA contributors. The governors PAC strongly supported Stratton.
