George Conway's Bluesky post today

Because the president of the United States is the dumbest motherfucker on the planet.

It's just that simple.

1. BREAKING

The Trump administration has granted a temporary sanctions waiver allowing Iran to sell oil.

The authorization applies to shipments that were already loaded onto tankers before March 20 and gives a deadline of April 19 to complete them.

An apt reference to a great novel that seemed quite absurd in some ways but is less absurd that this shit Trump has been doing.

There was only one catch and that was Catch-22, which specified that a concern for one's safety in the face of dangers that were real and immediate was the process of a rational mind. Orr was crazy and could be grounded. All he had to do was ask; and as soon as he did, he would no longer be crazy and would have to fly more missions. Orr would be crazy to fly more missions and sane if he didn't, but if he was sane he had to fly them. If he flew them he was crazy and didn't have to; but if he didn't want to he was sane and had to. Yossarian was moved very deeply by the absolute simplicity of this clause of Catch-22 and let out a respectful whistle.

Somehow we managed to give free COVID shots. I'm pretty sure we could provide ID info free as well. There should be no voter ID requirement until 99% of the population is verified to have ID's in possession and there is no impact on mail-in voting, etc.

We’re giving them what they want. Are we getting anything in return? I doubt it.

If that premise is true and I were the Iranians, I'd want one hell of a gesture of good will to ensure the US is serious. This may be exactly that. It allows Iran to sell on the open market which includes the US. Donnie dumbass wants desperately to get out of this trap.

As I mentioned above, this move might makes sense if there are negotiations going on between the US and Iran. Continuing this war simply isn't tenable for the US regime economically, financially or politically. Maybe they're in the midst of cutting a deal with Iran so Donnie can extricate himself from this mess by declaring some sort of "mission accomplished" and going home.

If Israel isn't involved directly, and I wouldn't be one bit surprised if they're not, they might just get left out in the cold. End of the day, Donnie doesn't give a solid shit about Nuttyyahoo or Israel. He only cares about himself and this whole slog is hammering him and his party. He'll screw over whoever he has to to get out. And that couldn't happen to a more deserving asshole than Bibi.
