Police punch veteran w Alzheimer unconcious. Load on the criminal charges to be dropped if no lawsuit

Police agree to drop charges if family says they won't sue. Family will proceed with lawsuit so dementia patient is charged with felonies such as "assaulting police"

This is coercion. There has to be laws on the books making this illegal for police departments to impose upon someone. I hope they have a good attorney.
