.....for the tremendous example they have given the world of loving, non-violent resistance -- and for epitomizing the teaching of loving thy neighbor -- consider traveling there this year and spending money patronizing the businesses that were negatively impacted by the ICE surge.
I think I read that Mayor Frey has said that their economy was dinged (inadequate word) to the tune of about $200 million. I can't think of a better way I can thank those good, dedicated, deeply committed people than to go visit their town and put some of my dollars into their economy.

(129,863 posts)Do what we did when ICE comes to your city. Learn from what we've been doing (and we're still doing it; we've just had to recalibrate because they're still here, tormenting the suburbs now). Every city needs to organize and dig in and make it impossible for them to continue; If you're under siege you win by refusing to be defeated. Public opinion is starting to turn against them but do not allow violence of any kind (except maybe for throwing dildos at them), because violence is what they want. Organized grassroots nonviolent action is the only way to stop Trump's and Stephen Miller's cruel and destructive immigration policies permanently.
