2. But they're not the ones running things -

Miller and Vought (along with the assists from the Supreme Court) are pushing in Christian Nationalism as fast as they can. The Tech Bros like Thiel and Musk figure that's fine because keeping folks in line means they can keep their billions.

I do think they are rulers supported by a vocal minority, but the question is whether we're going to be able to vote them out with all the gerrymandering and outright republican cheating.

4. Way to take morality out of it. The people who don't fight for democracy in some way

are complicit. The Nazis don't get power without them. This isn't a "both sides" thing.

It is very challenging to divorce morality from... morality. When you frame everything as morality. And then various moral questions arise involving moral variables.
