Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHats off to NBC and Peacock for allowing us to record the world feeds for 95% of the Olympic sports (little off topic)
Not plugging a pay service but if you don't have Peacock and are really into the Olympics you don't know what your missing. The main broadcasts of the games on the network channels are HORRIBLE. We have to litsen to talking heads who don't know crap chat then they go to the sport, usually already started. Then they cut out for stupid commercials (I HATE commercials) then we they get back to the sport you've missed 5 minutes of action. For instance I am a HUGE curling fan and I watched (partially) one match on the main networks and they started it in the middle of the first end and every time they went to commercial you missed half of the next end. It was unwatchable. It was the same with every other sport on the main networks. Talking heads on stools having coffee and then the actual event so broken up you missed half the competition.
With the world feeds you get start to finish coverage, no commercials and don't miss a thing. This is especially important in Curling as you MUST watch every stone thrown to get into the strategy lol
(of course I'm a bit biased being a curler when my health was better
)
Sorry for the odd topic but hey, a post that doesnt mention FatAss every now and then is refreshing.... crap, sorry

(195,683 posts)Aside from the more reported in sports you can pick something and watch it from start to finish. I get what you are saying about the big broadcast but I find many of the other sports have very knowledgeable and experienced. Ive learned details in a couple sports I didnt know.

Totally on demand. Pick and choose replays, raw feeds, broadcast packages by sport, short features, daily highlights, etc. all without commercials. I have a personal news blackout during the day so I can watch fresh in the evening. Sometimes I watch three hours, some days its only 15 minutes based on my mood and interests.

(3,597 posts)People can make fun but sliding a 45lb hunk of granite the length of a basketball court and have it stop on a 3 inch spot on the other side takes a lot of talent and practice. And then there's the chess game. I've always found it fascinating lol. I like speed skating and sliding too.
