The purpose of ICE atrocities

My take - they are being pushed to break the law, and have been told they have complete immunity.

They know that "immunity" goes away if Trump is toppled.

This is a very dark way of guaranteeing absolute loyalty to the regime. They know that if Trump and his cohorts go out of power, they will face serious consequences.

Hitler used atrocity to shape the SS.

"Any man who is a man may not, in honor, submit to threats of violence. But many men who are not cowards are simply unprepared for the fact of human savagery. They have not thought about it (incredible as this may appear to anyone who reads the papers or listens to the news) and they just don’t know what to do. When they look right into the face of depravity or violence they are astonished and confounded."
Dave Grossman, On Killing: The Psychological Cost of Learning to Kill in War and Society

"But we must not deny it. if we look around the world carefully we will find somebody somewhere wielding the dark power of atrocity to support a cause we believe in. It is a simple tenet of human nature that is difficult to believe and accept that anyone we like and identify with is capable of these acts against our own fellow human beings. And this simple, naive tendency to disbelieve or look the other way is, possible more than any other factor, responsible for the perpetuation of atrocity and horror in our world today."

The administration has said so. They told people "self-deport".

But the rest is incompetence. ICE officers have shot each other. Ross came within inches of shooting the ICE guy who was in Good's car window. Shooting the driver of a car which is, in theory, coming straight at you will not stop the vehicle from coming straight at you(!) Training says you 1) don't put yourself in that position and 2) get out of that position ASAP. Likewise shooting with only one hand on the gun so that the other hand can video record via phone is not competent or well-trained police behavior. Likewise putting yourself in a position where you could be dragged by a vehicle.

These aren't teams of people that competent law enforcement people want to be part of. "Friendly fire" isn't friendly.

Hanlon's Razor 2.0: "Never attribute to grand design that which is adequately explained by incompetence."

Jun. 7, 2017, 3:19 PM EDT

When the door by the grandfather clock closed, and we were alone, the President began by saying, “I want to talk about Mike Flynn.” Flynn had resigned the previous day. The President began by saying Flynn hadn’t done anything wrong in speaking with the Russians, but he had to let him go because he had misled the Vice President. He added that he had other concerns about Flynn, which he did not then specify.

The President then made a long series of comments about the problem with leaks of classified information – a concern I shared and still share…. The President then returned to the topic of Mike Flynn, saying, “He is a good guy and has been through a lot.” He repeated that Flynn hadn’t done anything wrong on his calls with the Russians, but had misled the Vice President. He then said, “I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go. He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go.” I replied only that “he is a good guy.”

Comey went on to note there was some ambiguity as to what “this” referred to in “let this go,” but the comments are difficult, if not impossible, to defend: this appears to have been a sitting president encouraging the then-FBI director to go easy on someone under a federal investigation. (Try to imagine what congressional Republicans would say if Barack Obama fired an aide under investigation, and then told the FBI director to let up on the aide in a behind-closed-doors conversation.)

In two subsequent phone calls — one in late March, the other in early April — Trump reportedly told Comey that the investigation into the Russia scandal had created a “cloud” that undermined his presidency. Trump asked what Comey could do to “lift the cloud,” which lends further credence to concerns that the president was improperly intervening in an ongoing investigation by learning on the FBI director.

And choir boy Comey was … what?

This is old mob behavior … I wish people would stop with the “surprised” bs

This should be posted on every street corner. It should be the first ting we see in the morning and the last thing we see at night.

Because far too many of us act just like this.

Populated by Proud Boys and other white supremacist groups.Trump financed the Proud Boys (his campaign fund), and paid for their trip to 1/6. He repaid their efforts by hiring them into ICE.

The way to scare them is to tell them we know who they are (Lie) we can see their faces through their masks. And tell them them have no immunity and they will be prosecuted and sued until they have nothing left.

Every single agent should be fired. They are jot fit to serve our government in any capacity. We need new immigration laws as well as a new way to enforce those laws.

For that matter, DYS needs to be disbanded as well. It has become a behemoth with too much power to wreak havoc on the country under sadistic Republican leadership.

ANYONE who accepted a paycheck from ICE or for ANY work with ICE needs to make reparations and serve time for the crimes of the collective they are part of now. I hold them collectively guilty for the atrocities being recorded HOURLY right now.

ANY association with ICE is disqualifying for inclusion in future society, period. It is non-negotiable and PERMANENT.

However they also received, or perhaps will receive a $50,000 signing bonus. Who knows what is expected of them to earn that $50,000 bonus. Maybe how well they perform in their 1st 6 months...how many people the round up, how many homes and businesses they raid, any number of who knows what atrocities.

... including many rallies and angry demonstrations. Indeed many cities had the same, but Chump is hoping to get the same type of agitation going again in Minneapolis. That's why ICE is there.

They are literally trying to provoke it ... then BINGO! Chump will declare martial law and all his wishes come true. He gets to call off the midterm elections, and nothing else will matter.

It really makes sense to me now. I fully get it why the Minnesota cops are now right wing fuck heads. It just never hit me what it's all about!! TY for opening my eyes here. That's exactly why they chose Minneapolis.. They know how this would go for them. Probably were in contact with some of the leaders of the police force all along. Would be nice to prove this, if it took place.
