New report documents how Musk's DOGE SH*T scam amounted to nothing more than "false advertising."

Perhaps nothing so succinctly defines the brief and terrible existence of President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency, which appeared to shutter quietly in November, as much as deception. A comprehensive New York Times analysis found some startling data on DOGE that indicate its claims of having slashed government spending were packed with false advertising.

According to the Times, DOGE’s 13 largest claims about cuts were all incorrect, and many were totally false:

At the top were two Defense Department contracts, one for information technology, one for aircraft maintenance. Mr. Musk’s group listed them as “terminations,” and said their demise had saved taxpayers $7.9 billion. That was not true. The contracts are still alive and well, and those savings were an accounting mirage.

Of the 40 biggest claims on DOGE’s list, The Times found only 12 that appeared accurate — reflecting real reductions in what the government had committed to spend.

What did it was realizing I didn't know who Karl Rove was until I read the book. Never heard of him, realized I had to become much more aware, so thank you once again, Al Franken.

Doge would cost more than it saved.

Trump spent the US into 2.3 trillion in debt with little to nothing gains.

a great opportunity for some adventuresome young hackers to plant numerous backdoor accesses to the U.S. government main frame computer system for later exploitation.

Someday.....when billions are found missing from the national treasury, the stories of unseen theft of untraceable taxpayer dollars will make a great Netflix series starring First Lady Erica Kirk-Vance and her secret lover Stevie Miller.

Other than switching Secretary Shitfaced's weekly order for cases of Cutty Sark to cases of Ripple, limiting Ca$h Patel's weekly flights to see his main squeeze to three, and eliminating "extra gravy" from White House takeout KFC orders, how much did they expect Big Balls & Co. to do?

Yeah, if accurate means they saved $200,000 out of $6 trillion in expenditures.
And, I may be generous with net savings of $200k.
I spent the last 19 years of my career doing operational cost optimization. I know how to accurately capture net cost savings.
None of those DOGE morons do.

So yes, I take that to mean reductions, without mentioning what it cost get there, and also no mention of any of the 12 hitting the promised target. They just reduced "something."

I am making the generous assumption that my little number is net.
But, with billions at stake, my dog could put his paw on a list and accidently save $200k, net. For now.
The downstream costs would be known later, and the net may fall to negative values.

...Musk plunging a knife between the shoulder blades of agencies that had the regulatory authority to investigate his businesses.

I'd say that and the data theft were equal priorities, and anything masquerading as a "priority" after that was just a smokescreen.

No one knew what they were doing. No one knew how to monkey around with these things without breaking them, and when they did, they didn't care.
