The White House Is Managing The DOJ's X Account Amid Epstein Files Release: Report

The White House is managing the Justice Department's X account, Axios reported Tuesday, as the DOJ scrambles to release its files on late sex predator Jeffrey Epstein.

The account has recently adopted a more aggressive tone in an apparent effort to defend the president.

"Some of these documents contain untrue and sensationalist claims made against President Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election," the department said Tuesday. "To be clear: the claims are unfounded and false, and if they had a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponized against President Trump already."

Axios added that the DOJ expects to upload the remaining files online by next week, as about 700,000 pages still require review.
