It's sad that former Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska has Stage 4 cancer.

There is a bit of irony here. He will get the best medical treatment there is. All the while his party is taking medical insurance away from people.

I will never understand why they don’t care, but when they get sick? We’re supposed to feel bad for them.

No, I don’t wish any illness on anyone, especially cancer. I have many people I know who have cancer or who has passed away from this horrible illness.

Saying that, the hypocrisy and cruelty that the GOBers display is astounding and sickening.

But, don't come back.

I survived Colon cancer, that made me bleed everyday, because of "Obama-Care."

He did some evil things through out his time as a senator. He fought against a lot of things that would have benefited our state when Biden was in office.

I met him once at a shopping center. Very ignorant of the way he treated people. He did want to listen to our issues. I told him that he represents Omaha and he should care more about the people who voted him in office. He just ignored my opinion and he walked away.

No one should be that ignorant.

There is no "gold-plated" insurance for current or former elected federal office holders. They can remain on FEHB if they chose and pick a plan that suits their needs, but it's not free and enrollees pay about a 25% share of the premium. Plan offerings are from the same health insuramce companies with which we are all familiar with a couple exceptions for specific federal employee groups.
