He shot himself dead, so authorities have the gun. Ballistics are being performed to match it to the crimes. That much, at least, was asked and answered.
I heard questions about his rental car, license plate, storage unit, motive, academic history, relationship to his victims, and the lead which broke the case.
Tell me more about the gun please. That line of questioning has the greatest public policy implication relevant to future murder sprees, yet seems rather glaringly neglected.
I get the feeling that it's almost taboo to ask about when and how he obtained it. Is the gun's provenance not instantly traceable? And if not traceable in its entirety, at what point is its provenance officially interrupted and the gun disappears and is trafficked underground? Was it ever reported stolen?
Since I do want gun policy in the United States to become more restrictive, I am urging the expression of greater demand for this specific part of these shootings stories.

I'm not ready to spin conspiracy theories, but I do know that the physical nature of this universe does not bend to human will and that people who are murderously angry about their own personal failings shouldn't have guns.

The bulk of my original impression was .. "What country has this person been residing in?" "Certainly hasn't spent much time in the U.S.!"
