I must say that this image is disturbing

in the movies this is the screensaver on the computers at the world’s most evil company

Perhaps it is just me, but I find it disturbing. The round ball looks like a head with a receding hairline and a face that is decayed. The hands look like talons ripping away at the face, his face. They too are decayed rotting flesh.

Are we sure this is supposed to be an award? It sure as hell doesn't look like one. It looks like a death image, all rotting flesh from the depths of hell.

Is FIFA having a go at Don?

Step aside Hieronymus Bosch, FIFA outdid your images of Hell.

Since Trump would be impressed with any old tat as long as it was painted gold, there wasn't much point in going to town on the design, so it is what it is.

Here's the actual World Cup trophy (whisper it quietly so Trump can't hear, but it's 18 carat gold, which I seriously doubt his is):

This is the more classic, arguably more boring, Jules Rimet World Cup trophy it replaced (it's gold plate):

I don't know why the ancient Greek goddess of victory Nike (they missed a sponsorship trick there by a few decades) is supporting a garden tub.

I've always thought the newer World Cup Trophy looks a bit weird with the clawy thing grasping the globe like something out of Doctor Who, but I suppose it has a certain elegance. It does make Trump's award look a bit meh.

For his trophy, as much as they put any great thought into it, I suppose they were trying to riff off the World Cup trophy's theme and ended up with something from Bizarro World because they went cheap. It's certainly less blingy. Maybe he'll add some Home Depot filigree to bring it up to scratch.

At first glance it looks like a skull with hands ripping at it.
Then it looks like a globe being clawed by some greedy creatures.
