Texas wasnât going to gerrymander/draw new maps when Trump called for more partisan gerrymanders. They just started it when DOJ told them to erase majority minority districts! AKA to target and use race.

Texas & DOJ said thatâs what was going on!
So apparently the way to stop discriminating on the basis of race is to ⦠allow some discrimination on the basis of race when itâs to secure Republicans electoral advantage.
Just lawless partisan hackery. No fact finding deference. No legal basis.

And wtf does Purcell even mean here? The election is almost a year away! And this is a new map TX drew mid redistricting cycle! They already had selected a map! That was already partisan gerrymandered!

TLDR: SCOTUS rules, 6-3, that racial gerrymandering is totally okay when Republicans do it. And if a district court suggests otherwise, they were dumb and too mean to Republicans (specifically ânot presuming their good faithâ).

Also!!!! The two things SCOTUS said the district court failed to consider were ⦠addressed by the district court. More persuasively than SCOTUS

these clowns are REALLY going to say that Texasâs map - which targeted majority minority districts - was NOT discrimination on the basis of race.
But theyâll say Louisianaâs map - drawn to comply with the Voting Rights Act and give Black voters representation- DID discriminate on the basis of race
