Could he just be hauled off in shackles, arrested for multiple crimes against our democracy, for his complicity in the Epstein case, for his dealings with Putin, or any of his decades long offenses? Please. Let this horrific nightmare end.

(2,677 posts)....and any time, some Alien Mom will say. "Time to go to bed Krstzen"..."Put your World-Toy away".
And we will no longer exist.
But, I'll make a deal with Krstzen. Make Trump go away and I'll never, ever win the lottery.
Ha..that's the best I can do.

(42,723 posts)God doesn't work that way.
Suffering awakens the sleepers who come to realize the blessings and graces of the good country they had. Only those who persevere in faith and courage will survive this.
And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.
Malachi 3:3
Besides, who would be jurisdictionally qualified to haul him off in shackles, anyway.

(17,213 posts)It was somewhat of a tradition at Christmas to go see our local performance when I was growing up. My brother was a soloist which is why we went. I am only a so-so singer but I sang in it two years in a row when I was in my early 30's. It was quite an experience.

(42,723 posts)Yes, even when done less than professionally, it's still quite the experience.
When I lived in Chicago, every Christmas season the Chicago Symphony would sponsor the Do-it-yourself Messiah at Orchestra Hall on Michigan Avenue. Thousands in Chicago would show up, get shown to our soprano/alto/tenor/bass sections in the audience seats, each of our seats with its own Messiah score book. As the orchestra played we were amazing and amazed at how great we sounded even if the thousands sang slightly slower than the professionals who did the solos onstage.
Get this. The conductor would have us warm up with this one !

(17,213 posts)I still get chills when I hear some of it, especially the Hallelujah chorus. As a woman I always wished I would have had the soprano voice, but even as a young woman I was somewhere in the range of alto/tenor. I do believe I sang alto for the years I was in this. I can carry a tune and read music since I played flute and piccolo, but I knew enough to not try to sing over the ones who really had the terrific voices.
