My family sells Christmas trees and relies on this day to make up for an entire year of planting and weeding and fertilizing. And they actively work against Trump in bright red Indiana!

Haven't done a tree for a while, but would happily buy one to support a DUers family!

I’m in the Keys but I spend four months in Indiana helping out with the tree farm. Black Friday is the busiest for tree growers. They have been up since 4:00 opening the shop which is stocked full of holiday goodies, brewing coffee and hot chocolate for customers, stoking up a fire pit where all can warm their hands (and butts, lol). And Santa will be there in a sleigh as well.

That actually grows them (mostly Norfolk Pine), along with working with other small farms in Northern California, Oregon, and Washington.
We're looking for an approximately 6 1/2' Noble Fir, preferably Natural.
Yes, it's expensive and frivolous. Yes, we don't need real tree - the destroyer of fake trees passed this summer, and we could just go with something a bit lighter, cheaper in the long run, and easier to deal with...but the smell. The ritual. The memories.
That's the only major shopping we've left to do anyway. Next major expense is shipping. We always try to get the holidays taken care of before September.

I bought a very nice bottle of wine to save for the celebration of the Big Beautiful Obituary.
