Thanksgiving eve... I am a rich man.

My 120 pound English lab is in my lap (not fat that is just the way she is … I know dogs), going to a
thanksgiving dinner with my mom tomorrow …. she might not remember it, and I’m going to work
on one of my ecological restoration projects this afternoon. And I will spend part of the weekend
with my son, daughter in law, their daughters, and watch OSU vs Michigan.

Btw my favorite poem:

Cow
by Robert Louis Stevenson

The friendly cow all red and white,
I love with all my heart:
She gives me cream with all her might,
To eat with apple tart.
She wanders lowing here and there,
And yet she cannot stray,
All in the pleasant open air,
The pleasant light of day;
And blown by all the winds that pass
And wet with all the showers,
She walks among the meadow grass
And eats the meadow flowers.

If you change the cow's colors to red and gray it would be much better. Irish_Dem Nov 2025 #1

We'll be at her parents' house tomorrow for TG dinner, and I'll be sure to share this with her.

When he started out in the 50s all of his grad students were males. When he retired in the late 60s they were all females. Said they always fell in love with those big brown eyes.

It reminds me to be thankful for simple things, which I've been working on. At least that's what it means to me. On this Thanksgiving, I am thankful for my saint of a hubby and the life we've built together which suits us. But you did it with poetry, and that's cool.

My job was to go get the cows from the pasture every afternoon. I'd saddle up one of our horses and "head out." LOL!

Often when I was playing outside, I'd go sit on the fence, and the cows and I would just stare at each other....They are so effusive, and I felt their love....
