'Could bring him down': Senator says Trump was 'clearly at center of child sex ring' - RawstoryWhat we've already seen is immensely incriminating; clearly, Donald Trump was at the center of a child sex ring, Murphy said, speaking over the weekend with The Bulwark Managing Editor Sam Stein during a panel.

(10,943 posts)... I wonder if Sen. Murphy knows something we haven't seen, yet? The "center" means, to me, manager or co-manager status... something equal to Epstein and Maxwell. I thought Crooked Donald's involvement was more fringe... or onlooker.

(9,495 posts)is Jeffrey Epstein's other passions beyond sheer sexual depravity. The biggest of those was shady financial dealing and it was a huge part of how he amassed the power he had.
Now while many of us have our suspicions that Trump was a "short eyed" sexual predator, we know for certain he is magnetically drawn to illegal financial hijinks. He can't help himself. I have to wonder if that isn't as much a part of his paranoia about the Epstein files as anything else.

You go, Sen Murphy!

(53,214 posts)it is hard to keep up. Meanwhile, people are still examining what has been released and more of the whole picture seems to be coming together.
Chris Murphy doesn't tend to be hyperbolic, so I am assuming that what he says is based on solid evidence.

(1,469 posts)And he had a modeling agency in the relevant time period.
Epstein is known to have had direct connections of the worst kind with a French modeling agency. The guy who ran it, who repeatedly raped Virginia Guifre, died of reported suicide while in jail for his illegal modelling related "activities" a few years ago.

(270 posts)Senator says something like this, it unfortunately doesn't move the ball that much. They are still the majority and still aren't budging. When that majority starts to crack, then I'll start thinking there might be some real justice. In the meantime, Senator Murphy keep pounding them with facts and truth.

(4,553 posts)I love Murphy's optimism, but rubber and road don't always meet. After everything for which the molten orange blob has been given a pass, I'm not holding my breath. But I hope he's right.

(4,553 posts)He's a solid dependable Democrat. He's just been on my reality alert the past couple days. On Sunday he criticized the Caving 8 (for lack of a better term) saying he thought there was "a real shot" at getting a continuing resolution passed to end the shutdown. My first question was when. My second question was who else thought that a deal was possible. Republicans knew their future political fortunes were cooked after this month's elections. They also knew the C8 weren't on board with the shutdown and thus would probably eventually give in.
But like most people with a big mouth (or typing fingers) I really don't know.

(8,390 posts)Oh, wait, I thought he was toast when he called war casualties "suckers and losers", or when he vilified the Kahn family, or when he was convicted of 34 counts of fraud, or when he said of Charlottesville that there were "fine people on both sides", or when he pardoned 1500 thugs who attacked the capital.
Never mind.

(7,400 posts)Oh I believe he's a ring leader of child sex trafficking. No doubt whatever in my mind. But I see no ending where Trump goes down for any crime regardless of how incredibly disgusting. He's the master at finding teeny weenie loopholes in the law and exploiting them for personal gain. The only bright spot in my lack of belief is that Jean Carroll took him down. So it CAN be done. We just need that repeated on a scale that removes him from office and into a jumpsuit that matches his face.

And a Republican House will never impeach.
A Democratic House will impeach, but too few Senate Republicans will vote to convict.
Last, Section 4 of the 25th Amendment doesn't apply.
Trumps not going anywhere.
